Siopi_Blog Post 7: Enemy Ai Progress


Hi again, 

This is Jack, Tech Lead for the project, bringing a small update about the progress of enemy AI in the game.

Basic patrolling has been established with use of Navmesh and the AI will continue to patrol randomly. A detection radius has been established that once a player enters, the slimes will turn and begin the 'chase'. Leaving the radius will allow them to return to their regular programming.

Once contact has made, the slimes will make the ultimate sacrifice and detonate on the player. However, we have a workaround to escape a slime-detonated explosion. Jumping atop of the slime will allow the player to safely 'pacify' the little creature while being propelled into the air!

This is just the main slime, the water slime that we have being set up is a distant sniper who will do their best to hit you in mid-air and throw off your timed jumps. Devilish little bugger.
